Haben wir
gut geschlafen so nah am Ozean mit dem Rauschen des Meeres - kurz aber tief,
denn um 6 Uhr mit dem Sonnenaufgang erwachte ich! Unser letzter Tag hier auf
Mauritius begann mit so tollem Wetter, dass ich nicht zurück ins Bett wollte...
ich setzte mich auf unseren Balkon und schaute zu, wie Sonne langsam Farbe in
die Landschaft brachte…
We slept very well last night so close to the ocean and with the sound
of the waves - short but deep, because at 6 am at sunrise I woke up! Our last
day here on Mauritius started with such gorgeous weather that I didn’t want to
go back to bed… I sat on our balcony and watched the sun bringing slowly
colours into the landscape… (Odile: It was exactly how you described it –
thanks a lot for this hint!)

Um 7:30
Uhr machten wir bereits einen Spaziergang am Strand der türkisblauen Blue Bay
entlang - ich immer noch im Pyjama! ; ) Als wir zurück zum Chante au Vent
kamen, setzten wir uns an den nett gedeckten Frühstückstisch auf die Terrasse und
genossen nochmals die herrliche Aussicht!
Es war immer noch früh und da wir unser hübsches Zimmer bis 13 Uhr benutzen konnten, beschlossen wir den Morgen am Strand zu verbringen… dort konnte ich doch tatsächlich noch mehr als eine Stunde dösen! Dann war es schon wieder Zeit uns für den Weiterflug auf die Insel La Réunion bereitzumachen und dieses kleine Paradies zu verlassen... : (
Wie immer bin ich nervös vor einem Flug, vor allem weil ich nicht online einchecken konnte und uns gestern unsere Tischnachbarn erzählt hatten, dass ihr Flug von Mauritius nach La Réunion das letzte Mal annulliert wurde... Bei uns lief aber alles nach Plan: Innerhalb von 15 Minuten waren wir am Flughafen, mussten nicht einmal beim Einchecken anstehen und auch hier wurden unsere Golfsäcke ohne Kommentar als zweites Gepäckstück befördert - grosse Klasse!
At 7:30 am we already went for a stroll on the beach along the turquoise
Blue Bay – I was still in my pyjama! ; ) When we came back to the Chante au
Vent we sat at the nicely set breakfast table on the terrace and enjoyed the
wonderful view again!
It still was early and because we could keep our pretty room until 1 pm
we decided to spend the morning at the beach… I was actually able to have a
snooze of more than an hour! Then it was already time to get ready for our
flight to the island of La Réunion and thus leave this little paradise… : (
I was quite nervous before our flight, like always, especially because I didn’t succeed in checking in online and because our table-mates last night told us that their flight from Mauritius to La Réunion had been cancelled last time… Luckily everything went according to plan: Within 15 minutes we reached the airport, we not even had to queue for checking in and also here our golf bags were carried as a second piece of luggage with no comment – just terrific!

hoben wir ab wie geplant und genossen bei diesem tollen Wetter eine fantastische
Aussicht auf Mauritius und La Réunion! Eine halbe Stunde später landeten wir
auf La Réunion, holten unser Gepäck ab und nahmen unser Mietauto in Empfang.
Wir fuhren zuerst auf der Autobahn der Nordküste entlang Richtung Westen und
nahmen die Abfahrt L'Etang/St. Paul. Eine Küstenstraße führte uns an vielen
Hotels vorbei und wir entdeckten schon zwei nette Flaniermeilen, die wir sicher
bei unserem Aufenthalt hier einmal aufsuchen werden... Uns fiel auf, dass es
hier auf La Réunion einiges wärmer uns bedeutend lebhafter zu und hergeht als
auf Mauritius!
At 3:05 pm we took off as scheduled and enjoyed a fantastic view of Mauritius and La Réunion! Half an hour later we landed on the island of La Réunion, picked up our suitcases as well as our rental car. First we drove on the highway along the north coast direction west and took the exit L'Etang/St. Paul. On a coastal road we passed lots of hotels and discovered two pretty places which we certainly will check out during our stay here… We noticed that here on La Réunion it is quite warmer and significantly busier than on Mauritius!

Kurz vor
18 Uhr kamen wir im hübschen Hotel Swalibo (http://www.swalibo.com), La Saline-les-Bains
an, wo wir gestern Abend beim Abendessen für 3 Nächte ein Zimmer reserviert
hatten. Wir stellten unser Gepäck ins Zimmer und marschierten zum Strand -
gerade richtig zum Sonnenuntergang und einen herrlichen Cocktail! Zurück im
Hotel beschlossen wir uns hier zum Abendessen gourmetmässig im tropischen
Ambiente verwöhnen zu lassen, was sich als die beste Idee herausstellte!

Shortly before 6 pm we arrived at the pretty Hotel Swalibo (http://www.swalibo.com), La Saline-les-Bains, where
we had booked a room for 3 nights last night at dinner. We put our suitcases
into our room and walked to the beach thereafter – just in time for sunset and
a delicious cocktail! Back at the hotel we decided to treat ourselves here for
dinner in a tropic ambiance, which turned out to be the best idea!
